Applied Regional Science & Project Management Laboratory

The Laboratory of Applied Regional Science and Project Management (KIM's Lab) conducts planning, and management research based on applied economics, addressing issues such as low fertility, aging, low growth, international economic cooperation, regional resources, economic cycles, social capital, and management in transport projects. By historically considering and practically observing these subjects, the lab infers the mechanisms of problem generation using 'multi-model thinking' with economic theory, statistics, and engineering methods. Through empirical analysis with mathematical models and economic statistics, the lab scientifically clarifies regional issues and explores the nature and implications of projects.
Professor Kwang is a specialist on compilation of Input-Output Table using General Equilibrium Model. Prior to being a full Professor at Koichi University of Technology, he worked as Associate Professor at Kyoto University. He has worked as an expert for the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as well as numerous General Statistical Office (GSO) in Southeast Asian Nations, particularly focusing on Vietnam and the Philippines.
